About Me

I was born in Croatia, on the Adriatic Coast of the Mediterranean Sea.

Graduating the College, I gained the qualification of Diploma in Mathematics and Information Technology. Further formal education consisted of a degree in Applied Psychology at the University of Zagreb and a Post Grad Diploma in Psychotherapy. In New Zealand I expanded on my training in Psycho-dynamic and Psycho-analytic Psychotherapy.

I have worked as a psychotherapist in private practice and a freelance psychologist. I worked in human resources and development, contracting to various non-governmental agencies. My first encounter with psychotherapy clients (as a student then) was in 1994.

I immigrated to New Zealand in 1999 and have been a practicing psychotherapist in a range of settings including private/shared practice, non-governmental agency for immigrants, and tertiary institutions.

My training included, and my practice is primarily informed by, the following theoretical and practical modalities:

  • Psycho-dynamic Psychotherapy

  • Psycho-analytic Psychotherapy

  • Humanistic psychology

  • Integrated Gestalt

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

  • Cognitive Analytic Therapy

I am overseas registered psychologist and in New Zealand I am registered as a psychotherapist, with the Psychotherapists’ Board Aotearoa NZ (PBANZ).

I am a member of the PBANZ Professional Conduct Committee.
